cenote el jardin de eden

dive with us & discover the mayan cenotes

Commonly called Ponderosa which is in fact the name of the cave system, it offers a cavern tour leading you from the large entrance of El Eden to the even larger cenote Coral, where divers swim along an amazing and very long curtain of light with several meters long mangrove roots on the background. The first part of the cavern line leads through a large tunnel, before opening up and then falls again and run along cave entrances and into a strong halocline effect, with impressive temperature differences. Along the way, many fossils are on display, and even remains of Mayan pottery. Returning to the main entrance, we can see a surprisingly large amount of fresh water marine life. Photographers will be particularly thrilled by the experience.
